The legacy of merchants and manufacturers can be found in many of the historic buildings that dot the St. Joseph’s city map. In the 1850s, the city served as the major outfitter for west-bound wagon trains and grew to become one of the three major wholesale centers in the United States, on par with Chicago and New York City.

A vibrant, historic city with roots that tie to the pioneers of progress, give the city rich character and proud patronage.
